Very 1950s 60s style home cafe. Good food, nice waitresses, and affordable. Which is strange for Ojai Valley, where every eatery now costs an arm and a leg these days.
You won't see the hipsters, or LGBT crowd in there much. Just locals looking for a good meal, cheap.
And the food is great for the price. -

I REALLY wanted to like this place because it's super close to my house and the prices are right.
The food fell short. Super short. Nothing was memorable. The hash browns were without a doubt old. My omelette was supposed to have bacon, they used ham. It was also very over cooked. I usually prefer over cooked eggs but this was
Just awful. I'm so sad, the place is charming and
the servers are old school were really working hard.
MAYBE I'll try it again, but we don't eat breakfast out often, and I wanna be sure I'll be super satisfied. -

Stopped here midweek for a late morning breakfast. First, let me tell you what this isn't! This isn't your trendy, new wave, health conscious "cafe' ". If that's what you're after, keep going up the road for that style breakfast at twice the price. On the other hand, if you are in the mood for a tasty "down home" breakfast in an "old school" cafe, you've come to the right place. I had very good ortega chili and cheese omelette, while my wife enjoyed the pork chops and eggs. Both were really good with everything cooked perfectly, and it was a real treat, eating pork that tasted like "pork" and not just some other nondescript "white meat". Portions are generous and the good coffee keeps on coming. Good food, friendly service and honest prices; we'll definitely return!

Hidden gem in Oak View! A must try if you're passing through like we were. Old school cafe with great service, good coffee and amazing food! I ordered the Chile verde omelet special for $7.95 and it's by far the best I've ever had and this is my favorite thing to order that's not a typical cafe item. The hubby's bacon avocado omelet and biscuits and gravy was good too. Don't forget to stop here if you're heading to Ojai like we were!

Ate there a couple weeks ago. A good friend recommended me.
Honestly .. I loved everything about it. I was instantly greeted with a smile and was told I could sit anywhere I pleased. The restaurant has a nice, old school, yet laid back atmosphere. It wasn't too busy or too slow either but I was helped right away by a young waitress. She had a beautiful smile btw. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak w/ Hash Browns & Eggs(Over Hard), and Biscuits w/ Gravy.
iHop has nothing on this Chicken Fried Steak. Perfect mix of chewy outside and soft inside. Eggs were over hard just like I asked. Hash Brows were perfectly cooked as well. Biscuits weren't dry but not soggy either. The Gravy really compliments the entire plate. Definitely going back when I'm in the area.
